Interactive Health Stations

Eighteen interactive health stations have been installed in San Antonio Public Libraries, providing a quick and convenient way for residents to check a variety of health measurements at the touch of a fingertip. The touch-screen units measure blood pressure, heart rate, weight, Body Mass Index (BMI), body fat and blood oxygen. Users can create an account and track their health information by logging in, updating and saving their information after each session. Each test takes 5 to 10 minutes total, and users are not required to do all the tests.

The health stations were provided by the City of San Antonio Metropolitan Health District (Metro Health) through the Communities Control and Prevention (CPPW) Grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and funded by the 2009 American Reinvestment and Recovery Act.
