Movement is A Key Element for Your Health Plan
Being physically active is a key element in living a longer, healthier, happier life. Physical activity can also help you achieve and maintain a healthy weight and lower risk for chronic disease. It helps relieve stress and provides an overall feeling of well-being. The benefits of physical activity may include:
  • Improved self-esteem and feelings of well-being
  • Increased fitness level
  • Strong  bones, muscles, and joints
  • Builds endurance and muscle strength
  • Enhances flexibility and posture
  • Helps manage weight
  • Lowers risk of heart disease, colon cancer, and type 2 diabetes
  • Helps control blood pressure
  • Reduces feelings of depression and anxiety
Try being physically active for at least 30 minutes 3 - 5 days a week depending on how hard you workout. Three days if you workout hard and 5 days if you workout light. Wanna see better results? Increase how hard or how long you workout--twice as hard or 60 minutes. Children and teens should be physically active for at least 60 minutes a day.
